Hourly Opportunities
We are always accepting applications for hourly positions. If you are interested in an hourly position, please bring a completed Employment Application to one of our stores from 2 – 5 PM.
Cashier:
Often the first point of contact with our customers, the cashier is part salesperson, part cash register expert. In addition to possessing all of the qualities above, the cashier is able to count money quickly and accurately. Typical duties include:
- Operating the cash register
- Greeting and selling to customers from either behind or in front of the register, depending on the customer traffic in the store
- Making coffee and coffee drinks
- Cleaning and restocking
Shift Supervisor
The shift supervisor is the “person in charge” of the shift in the absence of the manager. In addition to knowing how to do the cashier’s job, the shift supervisor’s typical duties include:
- Motivating a team to provide excellent customer service
- Managing the team to ensure that the shift checklists are thoroughly completed in a timely manner. Checklists involve some inventory and cleaning duties, as well as data entry/administrative duties.
- Reconciling the cash register totals for each associate, preparing the deposit
- Opening or closing the store
Management and Corporate Opportunities
Due to the small size of our stores, Marvelous Market managers have the chance to get involved with all aspects of running the business. Most stores operate with a General Manager, an Assistant Manager and a small team of Hourly Associates. There is never a dull moment! Here are some brief descriptions of the positions.

General Manager
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the General Manager is responsible for the profitability of his/her store.
Responsibilities:
- Create an environment where sales flourish through stellar customer service
- Control cost of goods sold through responsible ordering and inventory management
- Execute the merchandising plan
- Hiring, training and development of all hourly associates
- Scheduling and control of labor cost
- Management of all cash
- Food production management
- Ensure adherence to all food safety and health standards
- Reporting of financial information
Requirements:
- At least 2 years management experience in specialty retail, grocery and/or foodservice.
- Willing and able to work 50 hours per week.

Assistant Manager
Reporting to the General Manager, the Assistant Manager is the “right-hand” man (or woman) of the General Manager. He/she assists the GM with special projects and is in charge when the GM is absent.
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of management experience in specialty retail, grocery and/or foodservice OR 1 year of experience as Shift Supervisor with Marvelous Market.
